On more personal front.
What happening in my life - as of 19th July, 2021.
This is really bad year.
Last February, I finally got around to be playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake and finished it in 15 days. I got down to writing down about it in my blog, but believed it or not, several bad incidents in my life really put a dent in my life in a very bad way which was why it took me a while to write my blog again.
First of all, my project desktop, which I had customized with various software had crashed and the hard-disk had become unusable. This is a tremendous blow to my personal schedule because the work I had done for the past two and half years were in that hard disk, consisting of my game assets I had created myself as well as other software installations like Visual Studio, Blender and Unity 3D. The painful lost was really discouraging, like a kick to my balls, just when I was about to start my project, putting together something in Unity (which I had finally tune to my specification).
On personal level, our family had experience some tense emotional moments when my sister-in-law had reported that two of her close family members had recently died (last week) due to COVID19, and another distant family (of hers) are in Sungai Buloh hospital (in another state if you must know), and they had lost a son, with the rest of the family still in isolation ward. Nothing was known about the family further.
So far, myself and my family (brother, sister-in-law and the three kids) are safe (touchwood!). Thank God for that.
Now, I am sitting at home, feeling somewhat useless as I could not do what I always wanted to do - put together and experiment with Unity 3d software. I had all the assets ready for it but Fate pulled the rug under me. The PC I'm currently using is incapable of supporting Unity development tool which requires 64-bit Windows to run. It is really annoying.
I just require one piece of IT equipment - a new hard disk to buy and install to my pc which lost its original hard disk but since February, the computer shops (as well as other non-essential shops) are closed due to the pandemic. I could buy using online store but I'm not familiar with that and my friend who usually buy things from online had advised me not to do it as stores like these could likely to sell old stocks which could become faulty if we are not careful choosing it. Last thing I want is a faulty hard disk (again), crashing on my game project just when I had finished my project.
Basically, I am now an IT person with no IT equipment to use apart from an old computer, an old laptop and my smartphone.
So, I decided to lay low and finish off the rest of the non-IT related works like my fanfics. My latest one were finished last month and it also lost as well due to the hard disk crashing as I mentioned earlier.
Luckily, I still had an older copy of my draft which I wrote last year. After reading through it, I believe that I can came out with a newer and better story-line to end my Parasite Eve Fanfics. Previously, it could have taken me another two more fanfics to end it but with this new story, I could only have to finish the one I am currently working on and write the final fanfic next year. Hopefully, I would able to publish the new fanfics by end of this year (hopefully by December, 2021).
From game front, I have successfully finished three games - Final Fantasy 7 Remake (February), Tales of Besteria (a Japanese RPG which was my favorite during Playstation 1 and 2 eras) and Detroit : Becoming Human (an old game which came out in 2018) - most likely I could write something about these games in the near future as well. Currently, I am playing Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, and boy, do I have something to say about it.
Oh, I also had managed to grab a Platinum for Nioh 1 after one and half years of suffering through it. It was a great satisfaction for me to "officially" finished the main story of the game with that Platinum in my trophy case. I had finished two of the three DLCs and currently in the final DLC which I am planning to finish it soon before retiring from this game.
Already in my level 217 right now, but I still have not explored the Abyss, making me wonder if the trip is worth it. I will update you guys if I went down to the Abyss later.
Update - the Malaysian government here had allowed shops to open temporarily (under the Phase 2) and that meant that the IT shops are open. I had went out yesterday morning to town in order to buy a hard-disk at a local mall here. The main roads are closed for cars and buses but people were moving about on foot. I had to walk for more than a mile but I managed to buy a new hard-disk for my computer.
